Admission Requirements

All italian and foreign flautists are allowed without any age restriction

1.

Students of the Master Class are distinguished as “participants” and “auditors”.

Participating  students:

A maximum of 20 flutists from Italy and abroad who had passed the five year Conservatory exam  or equivalent title issued abroad.

Auditors:

Flutists who are cosidered not eligible as participants for the Master Class take priority as auditors; then students attending advanced courses at a Conservatory, Music School or any recognized Music Institute in Italy or abroad, ex-students and amateurs may apply, until the consuption of the available seats.

The admission of ‘participating’ students to the class will be based on an examination of the flutists’ Curriculum Vitae and one-tape/CD recordings. Andrea Griminelli himself will judge these. The evaluation, carried out on his own terms byAndrea Griminelli, will be final and not subject to arbitration.  The CVs, tape/CD recording and the photocopy of receipt of payment of Deposit of € 50,00 (fifty Euros) have to be sent by post before July 30, 2005 to: GLOBART, Piazza della Vittoria, 1, 42100 Reggio Emilia, Italy. 

GlobArt, organizing institutions, foundations and sponsors place study grants at participants’ disposal in order to cover the enrolment fee and/or the stay expenses. The study grant’s request has to be undersigned in the special space of the application form. Study grant’s award, carried out on its own terms by a committee, won’t be subject to arbitration and will be notified to the selected students within August 20, 2005.

Applicants for the ‘participating’ student openings are requested to send in their application, including curriculum vitae, one recording and receipt of payment of entrance fee of €50,00  (fifty Euros) to be paid through bank money transfer on:

The application should be sent to GlobArt address (details address at point no.2). It is necessary to use the application form you find at the end of this document. The selected students will be notified by telephone on August 20, 2005. Applicants who do not receive notification of admission by  August 20,  2005 are considered not eligible for the Master Class and as such will be refunded their deposit.

Those  applicants not admitted as members of the Master Class  may be allowed to sit in as auditors within the conditions laid in the regulations.

4.

The n. 20 selected participating students will have to pay the full fee amount of € 450,00 (four hundred and fifty Euros) through bank money transfer (bank details at point no.3) by September 2, 2005. All participants will play at the concert at the end of the Master Class on Saturday 10th.

5.

Students wishing to audit the Master Class for the entire week have to pay the Entrance Fee of €200,00 (two hundred Euros) through bank money transfer (bank details at point no.3) by August 31, 2005. All auditors are entitled to attend the concert at the end of the Master Class on Saturday 10th, free of charge.

6.

GlobArt will put a pianist and a guitarist at disposal of students; every student must bring the piano scores of the music pieces he will study with Andrea Griminelli. Students who want to attend Master Class with their own accompanist could ask GlobArt to coordinate times and lesson days; GlobArt will give its  approval or not. Accompanists are not expected to pay a registration fee.

7.

It’s possible to buy a daily entrance card for auditing the Master Class paying  € 50,00 (FiftyEuros) at Istituto Musicale C. Merulo in the morning before lesson start.

8.

The Class will be held in the Istituto Musicale Claudio Merulo, via Roma no.4 Castelnovo ne’ Monti, 42100 Reggio Emilia, Italy, tel. (+39) 0522.610206. Participating students must play at least two pieces of their choice taken from flute repertoire.

The Class will begin each day with a “warm-up session” and technical exercises.

9.

The Master Class will finish with a public concert given by participating students  in the Teatro Bismantova on Saturday September 10, 2005 at  9,00 p.m.

10.

At the end of the Master Class participating students and auditors will be given a certificate of attendance.

11.

GlobArt reserves itself the right to alter parts of the present terms in case of events beyond its control.
