Admission Requirements
1.

Students of the Master Class are distinguished as “participants” and “auditors”.

Participating  students:

A maximum of 24 flutists holding a Conservatory diploma or equivalent title issued abroad.

Auditors:

Students attending advanced courses at a Conservatory, Music School or any recognized Music Institute in Italy or abroad, ex-students and amateurs may apply.

The admission of ‘participating’ students to the class will be based on an examination of the flutists’ Curriculum Vitae and one-tape/CD recordings. Sir James Galway himself will judge these. The evaluation, carried out on his own terms by Sir James Galway, will be final and not subject to arbitration.  The CVs, tape/CD recording and the photocopy of receipt of payment of Deposit of 275,00 (two hundred and seventy five Euros) have to be sent by post before June 30, 2003 to: GLOBART, Piazza della Vittoria, 1, 42100 Reggio Emilia, Italy.

Applicants for the ‘participating’ student openings are requested to send in their application, including curriculum vitae, one recording and receipt of payment of deposit  of € 275,00  (two hundred and seventy five Euros) to be paid through bank money transfer on:

by June 30, 2003.  

The application should be sent to GlobArt address (details address at point no.2). It is necessary to use the application form you find at the end of this document. The selected studens will be notified by telephone on June 30, 2003. Applicants who do not receive notification of admission by  June 30,  2003 are considered not eligible for the Master Class and as such will be refunded their deposit.

Those  applicants not admitted as members of the Master Class  may be allowed to sit in as auditors within the conditions laid in the regulations.

The selected participating students will have to pay the full fee amount of € 550,00 (five hundred and fifty Euros) by paying the balance of € 275,00 through bank money transfer (bank details at point no.3) by June 30, 2003. All participants are entitled to attend Sir James Galway’s concert during the Master Class week free of charge.

5.

Students wishing to audit the Master Class for the entire week have to pay the Entrance Fee of € 350,00 (three hundred and fifty Euros) through bank money transfer (bank details at point no.3) by June 30, 2003. All participants are entitled to attend Sir James Galway’s concert during the Master Class week free of charge

6.

GlobArt will put a pianist at disposal of students; every student must bring the piano scores of his music piece he will study with Sir James. Students who want to attend Master Class with their own accompanist could ask GlobArt to coordinate times and lesson days; GlobArt will give its  approval or not. Accompanists are not expected to pay a registration fee.

7.

It’s possible to buy a daily entrance card for auditing the Master Class paying  € 75,00 (Seventyfive Euros) at Teatro Cavallerizza Hall in the morning before lesson start.

8.

The Class will be held in the Teatro Cavallerizza, Viale Allegri, 42100 Reggio Emilia, Italy, tel. (+39) 0522.458970. Participating students must play from memory one piece of their choice which must be approved by Sir James.

Participating students will have a lesson on the chosen piece. The Class will begin each day with a “warm-up session” and technical exercises.

9.

The Master Class will finish with a public concert given by participating students  in the Teatro Cavallerizza on saturday July 12, 2003 at  9,30 p.m.

10.

At the end of the Master Class participating students will be given a certificate of attendance.

11.

GlobArt reserves itself the right to alter parts of the present terms in case of events beyond its control.
